The 31-year-old all-rounder from Utah comes out almost casually in an interview with a women’s magazine.
American actress, singer and dancer Julianne Hough talked about her sexual orientation in an interview with the magazine “Women’s Health”. The theme came up when she talked about her marriage to Canadian hockey pro Brooks Laich since 2017: “I told him, ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he answered, ‘Heh, please?’ I said, ‘It’s not me, but I’ve decided to be with you.’ Further details of how she would describe her sexual orientation were not mentioned by Hough.
Born into a Mormon family in 1988, the Emmy award winner also said in the interview that she had been looking for herself and changed a lot in recent years. “I dealt with this inner woman who needs nothing – unlike this little girl who looked up to [Brooks] and wanted him to protect her.” She had wondered if her husband would love that version of her ego too. “But the more I became my authentic self, the more attractive I became to him.” By now they have a much more intimate relationship than before.
